Arab Media, Netizens React To US-Syrian Talks About Missing Journalist

Between 5 and 15 May, Arabic-speaking news sites in Syria carried commentaries and editorials reacting to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s statement on reviving talks with Syria and other countries to free former U.S Marine and freelance journalist Austin Tice who the U.S believes was kidnapped in August 2012 while reporting in Damascus on the uprising against Syrian President Bashar al-Asad. The Syrian Government has long denied kidnapping or holding Tice. Netizens in Syria and neighboring Arab countries also took to various social media platforms to voice their opinion.
