Norway, Denmark and Netherlands Give F-16 Fighter Jets to Ukraine.
On 20 August, the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the Netherlands and Denmark will hand over F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. Then Norway joined the deal. While Ukraine claims that the supply of fighter jets will allow it to play on equal terms, Russia claims the consequences in the form of an escalation of the conflict. In June, Russian president Vladimir Putin commented on potential deliveries of F-16s that they would burn in the same way that ‘Leopard’ tanks burn. Social media users, as well as propaganda officials on both sides, hold different opinions and versions supporting both sides.
